Since we’ve been in pandemic mode, I cant help but be super observant when I do leave the house. I literally take all the sights, sounds and smell in! I can be a bit nosy at times, I’ll confess and these circumstances make me starved for tidbits. LOL! One of my key observations is a definite more laid back feel regarding dress out at the grocers and on social media. Have you guys noticed how lounge wear and pajamas are at an all time advertising high? I’m loving it! I haven’t had to invest much in new items because I’m obsessed with sweatshirts and leggings.
I battle daily with the decisions about what exactly to do regarding my hair, face, wardrobe. Should I take my hair down, or leave it braided under a wrap? Am I shedding the leggings for denim or is there no point? Is vaseline on my lips enough, or should I even out my complexion with a little foundation for the day? Last week, I posted a poll on my stories asking my followers about perfume…I have an extensive collection and haven’t sprayed any since the pandemic started, I just use a mist out of the shower and lotion. 60 percent of my followers indicated they wear perfume at home, even when they aren’t going anywhere. That number got me to thinking…..am I wasting by not using nonessential items that I have at home?
I came to the conclusion that I definitely am! I’ve decided to use all items in my arsenal daily, no matter how hard it is and how much I just want to lay around. I have so many outfits that I was “saving” for Spring outings……life happened and now outings aren’t a thing. I could have used them before and enjoyed them. Why hoard things for tomorrow……when we don’t know what that will bring. I’m enjoying today, TODAY!
There have been so many memes of people racking up online shopping purchases. The sales have been great, but if you have a closet full of items, think long and hard about purchases right now, Spring items can easily transition to Summer. Don’t let the current state of affairs make you waste items you’ve purchased, use those things and enjoy them! Do what feels good.
Love the advice, where is my head wrap??
Good read…I’ve been trying to switch things up a bit myself. I use my less expensive perfumes just to keep me going and still feel some what the norm.
Great tips! I’m working on looking cuter around the house. I wear my headwraps more, put on lounge clothes instead of jammies all day, and spray perfume! I got the perfume idea from the IG story you mentioned in your post. My husband actually noticed one of my scents! I guess he was used to me smelling like the house…lol
