Welcome to Jay’s World

Hey There! I’m Jessica McDaniel, Jay to the bulk of my friends and Jess to those closest to me. As a 39-year-old wife, mother, and lover of all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, I welcome you to my site.

I live in Little Rock, AR, and love exploring the city with my family. I graduated from Jackson State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications, obtaining my MPA from the University of Arkansas- Little Rock in 2011. My current professional role as a Community Liaison with the Central Arkansas Library System allows me to meet people and take resources where they are, making a difference every day!

In my free time, I make my passion pay by working as a freelance creative writer. I collaborate with businesses and individuals to convey their messages clearly. Rather it’s a resume refresh, media kit, bio for events, product descriptions, real estate listings, or press releases, I work with my clients to increase their reach. Make sure to view my Creative Writing page to see how I can assist you!

My Path to Authenticity

Just Jaywalking launched in November of 2019 as a creative outlet to ground myself in my own personal identity, while navigating being a working wife and mother. Here on the blog, you will get a peek into my life and hobbies! Come along with me, for tips on time management, mom hacks, bougie-on-a-budget ideas, and a lot more.

Walk to Your Own Beat

So glad you stopped by and hope you stick around. You’ll find that I love the idea of metaphorically jaywalking. I’m living every day without regard for what others think is conventional and stepping out on my own terms.

Let’s take a stroll. Keep jaywalking!
