So, Fall is approaching and fast!!! But if you’re in the South like me, it’s still hot as hell! While I’ve been doing inventory of my closet and seeing what items I have from last year that will make a reappearance this Fall, I haven’t completely jumped off the Summer train. The official first day of Autumn is September 22….and the way the heat is set up here in Arkansas, I may have a few more weeks of dresses, shorts and tanks before I slip into my cozy sweaters but I wouldn’t be mad if it that was cut short. This is a weird time of the year where you can transition, I like to think of it as a short window for layering, mixing and matching.
An example is this amazing dress by Lorna Luxe for In the Style. It’s flirty, has sleeves, fully lined and a high neck collar. This style is perfect for the weather switch up because it fits my transitional weather equation….OK, this isn’t as complicated as it sounds, but it’s a fun way I explain how I flip my style from Summer to Fall, Winter to Spring. Here we go….I basically add something in the warm to cold phase, subtract in the cold warm. For example, with this look, I have a sleeve and high collar for some warmth and coverage, still showing some leg because we’re not full blown Fall but I’m covered if the chill in the air hits. I could even change the whole tone with some boots.
When switching seasons, it’s all about adding and subtracting! The colder the weather, the more items I add. As the weather warms ups, I start subtracting…but not too much. LOL! Are you looking forward to the Fall? What’s your favorite season? Let me know in the comment section.

I’m loving the dress!!!! Its giving me wedding or brunch vibes. Let me stay focused lol Fall is my favorite season of the year. It means I can decorate around the house and outside, enjoy the crisp weather but not feel cold, enjoy PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING and bring out the plum lip! I’ll definitely take your transition tips because here in Houston you’ll have 65 degree weather one day and the next it’ll be 80!
