You guys know that I love incorporating new and old pieces into my wardrobe to make a look! By doing this, I not only save money but keep my clothing from spilling over. Not only do I mix pieces but I wear my looks in rotation if appropriate. For example, I will wear a particular piece out with friends, dress it down for a family dinner and slap on a blazer for work. LOL! Everybody getting a view of my look! One of my most popular posts was how I took one dress that was under 15.00 and made 3 looks for 3 occasions.
When shopping, while I don’t remember my entire closet inventory, I try to think about the core few items that I enjoy wearing the most. Finding things to accompany my favs will ensure I actually wear new items and get the most out of my money!
My staple shoe, a pair of chunky heel Mary Jane pumps from ASOS are so old! The quality is great though and I can wear them all day! Work, out, funerals, even my baby shower they were comfortable and I’ll never part with them. I recently treated myself to some Gucci tights for my birthday. Of course I’ll be utilizing them for dresses and skirts but I thought, how can I get more cost per wear? Oh, I know! Slap them on with pants and my Mary Janes! They provide a cute peek through the shoe.
I found this awesome pair of faux leather leggings in a great color! I didn’t have anything in particular to match it with but when in doubt, a black out will always work with a standout color! I grabbed the turtleneck sweater from one of my fav lounge sets and added a old bag with the same color scheme. I get many compliments on this bag every time I wear it. Rebecca Minkoff has great classic styles in neutral colors, this bag is almost 10 years old and still turning heads.
Never underestimate the power of a good dress! One piece can really save some coin! I paired this beautiful grey sweater dress from ASOS with literally all other pieces that were already in my closet from 5 or more years ago! Do you mix and match your looks or buy head to toe new? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you!
Can you mix and match me a pair of those pants?
I used to only wear an outfit together, together if that makes sense lol. Over the years, I figured out that it’s ok to break up the initial outfit and pair it with something else. Since I figured that out, I’ve created so many looks by rotating different pieces. Love that dress on you by the way!

Thanks girl! Yes! It’s definitely a money saver. I used to try and buy a pair of shoes to go with a new outfit…not anymore! Every piece I buy, I think of what I already have that will go with it.
