We’ll weather the weather, Whatever the weather!

Election over….2020 over…..inauguration OVER. It’s a new year and for some a weight has been lifted and that’s awesome. For me, it’s just another year that God has blessed us with and I’m prayerful as always that it will yield good health, wealth and love. Thankfully the political climate in our country never has an impact on me that brings me to chorus but I know that some feel they have weathered a storm and in respect of that, I am glad it’s done.

I rarely ever wear prints, but after looking at all the dark colors I’ve worn lately, I became instantly enthralled with the idea of stepping out of my comfort zone and wearing a floral….in the winter. It seemed so silly but I thought to myself, it’s midi length, has long sleeves and I can layer. At any rate, the day I shot these photos the temp was pleasant, or so the number indicated but it felt ridiculously cold in downtown Little Rock! I got out of the car and was like OMG! I thought, ummm should have did tights and boots, but I’m out here trying to be cute! (Did your mom used to say that to you like mine did to me? LOL!)

The thought ran through my mind to get back in the car and change into my other look for the day which was warmer….but I stopped. I’d made a decision, I had a heavy denim in the backseat, a fur clutch….I loved the dress…LET’S GO! There is an anonymous poem which is a favorite of mine. I think of it often and can usual tie it into every difficult situation I face.

Whether the weather be fine, or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold, or whether the weather be hot,
We’ll weather the weather, whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not. (Anonymous)

In finding a sense of peace within myself, my decisions and my vision of where I’m looking to go, I’ve decided that whatever is going on, I will face it and it will be what I make of it. It can be hard to look at a situation and come to the conclusion that for whatever reason, you made a mistake. Or better yet find out that something is not quite what you thought it was. How disappointing is that? But on the other hand, what beautiful clarity does that bring.

That poem! It’s definitely the perfect mantra for 2021. It’s funny because you can feel like you shouldn’t wear florals or other spring or summer prints in the colder months. You proved that it’s doable and it’s cute! I would have never known that it was cold outside. You killed the look and your expression made me feel warm and happy inside. You looked like you had a blast!

Thanks so much! It was a really fun experience, I think just because of the silliness of it all. I was cold as hell! LOL! These days everything is so serious. It feels good to get off the beaten path and find the joy in mistakes.
