One Dress…Three Looks…Three Occasions.

You did not read the title incorrectly! One dress, three looks, three occasions! It’s holiday season and that can mean lots of parties to glam up for! However, don’t forget that there are other seasonal obligations that do not require FULL glam, but you still want to make a statement, look current and not break the bank!

I created three looks using one dress as a base! I stuck to a plain black turtleneck midi. You honestly just can’t go wrong with a strong basic piece. Keep in mind this particular dress was 10.00 on boohoo.com but I would suggest investing in more expensive basics if you are able because they will last longer. While mine is sold out now, I did find a similar style, click here. I attacked this challenge of creating completely different vibes with one piece by keeping it simple…restyling my dress with outerwear, shoes and accessories!

The first look is perfect for your holiday office potluck! You know the day right before everyone starts taking off….the team assembles in the break room to partake in junk food and pray you’re not eating pet hair….just kidding…but not really. Haha! I paired my dress with tights, the perfect height Mary Jane heels, a thick cozy animal print cardigan (time to ditch the old one on the back of your chair) and a large Kate Spade satchel, which holds my laptop, files and essentials.

The second look is edgy and definitely sets the mood for a comfy, fun night with friends! Rather you’re catching a concert, casual dinner or bar hopping, you are ready to last the night! I’m completely in love with these large faux crystal statement earrings. They elevate the simple hairstyle I’ve been loving lately. I decided to take my leather jacket because it can be wiped of stains and easily tossed around in crowded areas where people may bump into you or you get warm. The star though has to be these combat boots. You will see this trend everywhere this winter! I’m still trying to make a decision about investing in a designer pair. I have my eye on the Gucci GG Wool Ankle Boots and Louis Vuitton Laureate Desert Boots but the prices are insane! Test driving a style to be sure before pulling the trigger never hurts! You get a sense if the style is something you will wear long term. These Forever 21 baddies are serving me well for the holidays! Slapped on my favorite cross body by coach and done!

The third and final look will turn heads for a holiday cocktail party or intimate, romantic dinner with your significant other on a cold night. A gold waist belt creates a killer silhouette and breaks up the black. I wore a gold pair of textured earrings, gold glitter heels and a vintage coin purse served as a clutch. The purse was my grandmother’s and I cherish it always. Look to find ways you can re-purpose your items. A tan faux fur was put in the mix to serve as a source of warmth and lets be honest…. You just can’t go wrong on a winter night during the holidays being EXTRA!

I loved creating all these looks because I literally spent 10.00 and shopped my closet for the rest. Accessories, outerwear and shoes rule winter style! Your outfit is covered for a long period of time, so put some thought into the three areas that are showing! I challenge you to get the most out of your wardrobe. It’s fun and cost saving which around the holidays definitely a plus!
