Life is a highway…..life is a journey…..a winding road…..yellow brick road (LOL!), how many analogies are seriously used to describe it in literature, music and pop culture. But it’s true and along the road there will be adversity, barriers and pit stops.
When on a road trip, I like to enjoy it and see things along the way. Pit stops are cool with me! Undiscovered locations, museums, historical markers….I’m down. My husband is the type that is all about the destination. Get to the end, lets go. I tell him all the time, that when you focus so much on where you’re going, you miss beautiful things and experiences along the way.
Even in times of emergency and crisis, you can learn something. A flat tire, just an opportunity to get out and stretch. Forgot to pack an essential item, a chance to shop and support a local small business. I always make it a priority to take away something from everything that happens to me, good or bad. All bumps in the road aren’t a negative, turn it around, find the light.
