I always hear a popular phrase in a lot of R&B, pop and hip hop songs….”Get you a girl that can do both!” Literally, women and men use this interchangeably….women as a brag and guys as a directive. I always think about it when I shop. I don’t have a specific look or style. I like to be put together, stylish and tasteful. Literally, Shorts and t shirts, to cocktail dress, to pleated skirt for church, I do it all! One of the best compliments I ever received was from my beautiful cousin Caitlin, follow her on IG here. She sent me a DM and was like, “You can wear anything!!” It was so nice and totally gave me the boost of confidence to continue on my journey to wear what I like! Guess what? You can too!
Sometimes, being plus size has a direct influence on what I wear, rather I like to admit that or not. I tend to stick to silhouettes that aren’t skin tight but definitely not too loose as to add the illusion of extra pounds. However, on a trip to H&M I decided to try on a pair of jogger shorts and an oversized tee. The color was so cute and I immediately thought, this would look really cool on a petite frame, I can’t wear oversized clothes….UMMM, yeah…I was wrong! I tried on the items and immediately fell in love with how I looked! Cool, with the relaxation that comes with traditional masculine items but girly in color and the playfulness of the Mickey tee. I was like, wow, new style to add to my repertoire. A large watch, sneakers and statement bag, evened out the look nicely.
You guys know I love a good dress, especially in these warmer temps! This plaid number from ASOS gave me baby doll 90s grunge vibes but make it fashion! Two totally different looks but undeniably Jessica! Never hesitate to wear something you like!

Thanks so much!! I’ve really tried to get into trying new things and wearing all kinds of styles….with my own personal touch. It’s been so fun! I would have never worn jogger shorts and an oversized tee as an outfit 2 years ago. Style is all about evolving.
